The Arizona Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) is a subsidiary of the AQHA, which promotes and encourages the ownership and participation of American Quarter Horses throughout the state. Tierra Madre Horse & Human Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Cave Creek, Arizona, providing a permanent home to horses that have been abused, abandoned, injured, or surrendered. The series began at the Biltmore Hotel in Arizona and Ann McCormick purchased 150 acres in Scottsdale and established the equestrian facility known as Paradise Park.

This facility served the needs of the show for many years. Horses Help is a recreational and therapeutic organization that helps people with special needs and communities at risk overcome physical, cognitive, and emotional barriers. Volunteers help children (26% adults) with physical, cognitive, and emotional problems during daily sessions in a very diverse equine environment. The first show was held on the grounds of the Biltmore Hotel in Arizona and it has grown from having 50 horses to nearly 2,400 horses. This event brings together some of the world's best owners, trainers, and breeders to compete for a chance to win. Volunteers can participate in a variety of programs that will provide them with an unforgettable experience.
